…or Even All of the Above!

If you’d like to start your own blog quickly and easily so that you can share your life experiences, promote a cause or business, or even make some extra money, then you’re in the right place.

Because I’m about to show you how to set up your own blog in just 16 minutes. Even better, this blog will be 100% yours. It will be fully customizable and you will have complete freedom to do whatever you want with it.

My name is Matthew Loomis, and I’ve been blogging professionally and for fun since 2005. I put together this online blog-building guide so that more people can get out of the rat race and find meaningful work they love to do through their own high quality blog.

If you don’t need anymore convincing and you just want to start your blog now, then click here for Step #1 in my “dummy proof” Build Your Own Blog guide.

Before I get to the nitty-gritty “how to” stuff, I’d like to cover just a few important “foundational” issues. If you don’t understand these issues now, they could have a huge effect on your blog down the road. With that in mind, let’s jump right in…

The Biggest Problem with Most Free Blogging Platforms (Like Blogger, Blogspot and WordPress.com)

There are many different free services you can use to start your own blog. The most popular platforms include Blogger.com, WordPress.com, Typepad.com, and even Google+.

When you start a blog using one of these platforms, they will host your blog for you on their own domain. You will get what’s called a “subdomain” and your website link will look something like this:

Unfortunately, all of these platforms have the same basic problem. If you start a blog using one of these free services, you don’t actually own your blog.

Would You Rather Be a Blog Owner or Renter?

Think of it like renting vs. home ownership. When you use a free blogging platform, it is the equivalent of renting. For example…

  • When you rent a home, the landlord dictates what you can hang on your walls, whether or not you can have pets, and all sorts of other details.
  • And when you “rent” a free blog, they control what your blog looks like, whether or not you can put ads or affiliate links on your site, and a whole lot more.

But perhaps most importantly, when you “rent” a free blog, they can arbitrarily “evict” you whenever they want for any reason whatsoever (or no reason at all).

This is the single greatest risk of using a free blogging platform. You don’t actually own the blog, so they can take it away from you whenever they want. All the content, backlinks, and traffic you’ve built up could be gone in an instant… POOF.

This isn’t just an imaginary fear, by the way. I actually know someone who lost two whole years of time, content, and branding — all because his free blogging service didn’t like something he said on his blog.

This is why there is really only one good way to set up your blog so that it provides you with the flexibility and freedom to SAY what you want… and EARN what you want… all while making your blog LOOK exactly the way you want it to look.

How to Start a Blog that You Actually Own

Based on my personal experience (and the opinions of many other blogging experts), the best way to start a blog that you actually own is to do two simple things, which are explained on the next page.

These two simple things will cost you no more than $3 to $5 a month — about what you’d spend on a single visit to Starbucks.

By completing these two simple things, you will become a BLOG OWNER with full control over how your blog looks and what you decide to put on it. It will be 100% yours and nobody will be able to arbitrarily take it away from you.

The 2-Step Process I Recommend is Fast, Easy and Affordable…

As I mentioned earlier, I’ve been blogging since 2005. That’s 10 years! And as you can imagine I’ve tried a bunch of different ways to set up blogs… some good, some bad.

But after years of experimenting, I’ve figured out a super simple way to start your very own blog in just 16 minutes. And when you go through my Build Your Own Blog guide, I will hold your hand and guide you through each and every step along the way.

In fact, if for some reason you get stuck along the way, I will personally help you. (All you have to do is ask – details on the next page.)

And just to be clear, my comprehensive online guide is totally free to you. The reason I can offer it free is because my web host gives me a small commission every time I help somebody set up a new blog (at no extra charge to you). This way we both get a return on our time.

Say Goodbye to Doubt, Fear, and Confusion

I’ve already helped hundreds of people set up new blogs. And many of those people have been able to build big readerships just by writing about the things they love.

Some have even quit their jobs to blog full time. It’s a great feeling to help so many people in a positive way… and I look forward to helping you, too.
