Anarchy Heart Switch Blue by Christopher Sessum   CC BY-SA 2.o

This is an article I’ve always wanted to write.

I’ve been an anarchist (to varying degrees) since my failed attempt to become student body president in 8th grade.

True story: after my nomination was rejected, a small group of my friends agreed to help me take over the school. Overthrow the faculty and everything. Terms like domain names and hosting services–these might be completely new to you.

I can relate.

When I started blogging, I didn’t know a domain name from romaine lettuce. And why would a blog need twinkies and ding dongs? (Hostess…Hosting…Get it?…never mind.)

Hopefully this tutorial will help you out.   (more…)

Email is just mail reinvented.

Email lives.

I say this without hesitation because my inbox is just as full of email today as it was two years ago. Plus I’m seeing great results using email here with Build Your Own Blog.

This makes a lot of sense because when you own the house, nobody can tell you to leave or tell you what you can or can’t do.

The same thing applies to your blog. (more…)
